Primitive Breeds
For tens of thousands of years, humans and sheep have travelled the earth together.
These hardy creatures produced everything we needed -- beautiful fleeces of many colors, milk, meat, leather, and bone.
We gave them good shepherding -- water and safe pastures.
Some of these breeds still survive, and many modern shepherds have worked to create a modern Noah's Ark for these special animals.
In this workshop we will look at some of the beautiful fleeces available to handspinners and discuss how to buy a fleece and prepare it for handspinning.
Spinners will have a chance to try Icelandic, Finn, Shetland, Gotland, Jacob, Navajo-churro, and Karakul.
