Novelty Yarns

Boucles, cables, gimps and turkish knots, encasement, frosted, beaded, and feathered. If you think spinning consists of two-ply fine or the "homespun" look is what handspinning is all about, this is the class for you. It's all about making yarns that are structurally strong but have decidedly unusual surfaces. We'll also look at yarns with unusual purposes (haven't you always wanted to make a goat-hair camel's nose ring?) and we'll investigate non-typical spinning materials.
