Mohair: Fiber from the Marvelous Goat

Mohair is a most ancient fiber. For centuries, it was sought after to make the best quality Persian carpets. It has incredible lustre and, when dyed, it produces rich, jewel-like colors. We are still finding new and wonderful ways to use it. In this seminar, we'll not only see how it is traditionally spun but look at the way modern designers use it to produce a wide range of novelty yarns. We'll look at some of the marvelous blends available. We'll also cover how to buy, wash, and store it.
